You can light your bathroom in several ways. People most often buy attached ceiling lights, however, suspended ceiling lights and LED strips are lately becoming increasingly popular.
Spotlights on a ceiling as well as on a wall
A bathroom is a space, where there is usually only a small window, so most light is created by luminaires. They are either placed above a mirror (you can read more in the article How to choose the right bathroom mirror lighting) or on a ceiling or on walls. No matter what type of spotlight you choose, always check, what is IP rating of the luminaire so that you know, in which zones of your bathroom you can place the luminaire (you can read more in the article How to choose the right bathroom light).
If you like simple and modest design, you might also like attached ceiling light. As the name suggests, this light is right at the ceiling and provides intense equal warmth. This light usually has rounded shape, however, there are also square-shaped types. You can also light your bathroom with spotlights, which are either placed on a ceiling or on a wall. If you have a large bathroom, we recommend that you place wall lights in there.
Suspended ceiling lights are trendy
If you desire a modern bathroom, we would recommend that you buy LED strips, which enable you to change colors. Very popular are also suspended ceiling spotlights, which are recessed directly into the ceiling. The benefit of these spotlights is that they do not interfere with the ceiling line, yet they provide enough light. Moreover, some types of suspended ceiling lights can be rotated to different directions.
It is clear, that it is necessary to have great visibility in the bathroom, therefore, spare no expense on lighting. Do not forget, that also the color of tiles affects the luminous intensity. Dark tiles will reflect less light than bright tiles, therefore, in such a case you will need more intense light sources or several of them.
Speaking of a light source, you should choose it really carefully. So that you have good visibility, the color of a light bulb should be cool white and the light bulb should reveal the colors as faithfully as possible (which means Ra should be at least 80).
