Smart BatteryProtect battery protection protects the battery from excessive discharge and can be used as an on/off switch.
Automatic 12/24V setting.
BatteryProtect automatically detects the voltage in the system.
Thanks to Smart BatteryProtect's integrated Bluetooth programming feature, desired voltage levels for connecting/disconnecting loads can be easily set.
Settings can be made via smartphone, tablet, or PC using the VictronConnect app (compatible with iOS and Android).
Alternatively, one of nine preset connection/disconnection levels can be set using the programming pin.
Bluetooth can be disabled if required.
Special settings for Li-ion batteries.
In this mode, Smart BatteryProtect can be controlled via the VE.Bus BMS bus.
Smart BatteryProtect can also be used as a charge disconnector between the battery charger and the Li-ion battery.
Low power consumption is very important for Li-ion batteries, especially after low voltage shutdown.
In case of overvoltage resulting in possible damage to sensitive devices, the devices are disconnected if the DC voltage exceeds 16 V or 32 V.
It does not work with relay elements but with MOSFET transistor switches, no sparking occurs.
The alarm output is activated if the battery voltage drops below the set value for more than 12 seconds.
Starting the motor, therefore, does not activate the alarm.
The alarm output is an open collector output on the negative bus, max. current 500 mA.
The alarm output is typically connected to a buzzer or light.
The load is disconnected 90 seconds after the alarm has been triggered.
If during this time the battery voltage rises to the connection threshold20 level (e.g. during engine start), the load will not disconnect.
The load will reconnect 30 seconds after the battery voltage rises to more than the preset reconnect voltage.
BatteryProtect is unidirectional i.e. current can only pass from the "in" input to the "out" output.
Back current passing from the "out" output to the "in" input is unacceptable and will damage the device.
